Frequently Asked Questions

HOW DO I KNOW IF MY PROPERTY HAS STORM DAMAGE?

Just ask us! Our certified inspectors will do a free consultation. AC INC. Roofing can then inform you on the status of your property, and whether or not you should open an insurance claim.

Look for these signs of significant property damage if you experience a storm in your area:
1. You have noticed dents in other items on your property (patio furniture, car, deck, siding, windows)
2. You see that your neighbors are getting repairs

DO I HAVE TO PAY ALL COLORADO ROOFING TO LOOK AT MY ROOF AND DAMAGES

Absolutely not. At AC INC. Roofing, we are happy to inspect your home or business, and review your insurance documents, to see how we can further assist you.

WHY DO I NEED ANOTHER INSPECTION BY ALL COLORADO ROOFING? THE INSURANCE ADJUSTER ALREADY DID ONE.

Your Insurance Adjuster is writing an estimate based only on what they can see has been damaged, meeting the minimum requirements, but not necessarily what it will take to replace your exteriors to meet city and county codes. Meaning, upon first inspection, they may let the little things go – when we know these little things can add up quickly, and possibly leave your property exposed to further damage down the road. The Certified Inspectors at AC INC. Roofing are trained to find the small or hidden damages, as well as the obvious ones.

ISN'T MY INSURANCE AGENT/COMPANY LOOKING OUT FOR MY INTERESTS?

Not really. Your insurance company is looking to do the least amount of work that will satisfy your contract with them – and for the lowest dollar. Remember, your insurance company is a business looking to make a profit. Although they do offer you loss protection, their Adjusters are not obligated to inform you of the best products, upgrades and practices that you likely deserve and have paid for through your premiums. Your Insurance Agent, the person who sold you the policy, can intervene on your behalf at times, but they have limited control over what the Adjuster decides. At AC INC. Roofing, we keep your interests in mind while negotiating your claim with your assigned Adjuster.

DO I NEED TO WORK WITH ALL COLORADO ROOFING AND A “ROOFER”?

No, AC INC. Roofing is your one stop to get the job done. Our team of experts will facilitate everything needed to complete your exterior repair. We work with your insurance company to include all exterior damages and product warranties/upgrades. We then coordinate the experienced crews needed to do all necessary exterior work: roof, windows, gutters, paint, and siding. We work with you, the home or business owner, to guide you through this process. Our goal is to ensure that your home or business is protected, and that you receive every benefit available from your insurance policy.

DO YOU WORK WITH MY MORTGAGE COMPANY?

At AC INC. Roofing, we do everything in our power to minimize paperwork for you. However, you are the best person to have contact with your mortgage company, as you are their customer. We are happy to provide documentation to you and/or your mortgage company if needed for the insurance claim.

DO YOU HANDLE COMMERCIAL AND RESIDENTIAL CLAIMS?

Yes. At AC INC. Roofing, our experts and crews are licensed and HAAG certified (the same as your insurance adjuster) to do both commercial and residential claims/jobs.

DO I NEED TO HAVE AN INSURANCE CLAIM?

No. You can call the Certified Inspectors at AC INC. Roofing for a free consultation. We can then inform you on the status of your property, and whether or not you should open an insurance claim.

WHAT IS DEPRECIATION?

Depreciation is the difference between Replacement Cost Value (what it costs to make you whole) and Actual Cost Value (what your aging roof, windows or siding are currently worth). For older exteriors, depreciation can be a significant factor that decreases your initial insurance pay out. Most, but not all, property policies will pay you the depreciation, after you have proved to them that the repairs are complete. This is called “Recoverable Depreciation” in insurance lingo. AC INC. Roofing’s team will file the paperwork required to get the “Recoverable Depreciation” money paid to you. Please talk to your Insurance Agent if you are not sure of the specifics of your policy.

CAN I GET EVERYTHING FIXED? INCLUDING PAINT, GUTTERS, SIDING, & WINDOWS?

Yes! AC INC. Roofing has developed relationships with the most experienced and reliable trades people in your area. We will coordinate all subcontractors needed to complete your storm repair project. You benefit from the trust factor that we continually work hard to maintain with our subcontractors.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO “SUPPLEMENT THE CLAIM”?

This is where AC INC. Roofing can benefit you more than most other roofing or siding companies. We will go line by line, product by product, to make sure you get the most value from your insurance claim.

Our team will scour your claim to make sure that every possible benefit is included, and every code is met. Then we will add lines to your claim, to include any storm damages to your property that may have been missed by the insurance adjuster. The result of that work is called a “Supplemented Claim.”

After the Supplemented Claim is submitted to your insurance company, our claim experts will begin negotiation with your insurance adjuster to obtain the best possible settlement for you.

WHAT IS A CODE UPGRADE?

Building “Codes” are the local municipalities’ requirements for whatever project you are having done (roof, windows, siding, etc.). These codes, generally based on national standards, change every few years to include the latest building requirements in both installation methods and materials. Our team works closely with all local municipalities to ensure that your repair is in accordance with current standards or codes. Most, but not all, property insurance policies include “Code Upgrade” coverage.

Building Codes must be met by law, and nearly always add significant cost to a building or repair project. At AC INC. Roofing, we recommend that your insurance policy include “Code Upgrade” coverage. Please contact your Insurance Agent if you have questions about your policy.
